Workout Protein Shake Recipe

Protein shakes are a great way to supply your body with convenient nutrition and replace nutrients lost during exercise. However, all protein shakes are not created equal. In the spirit of providing you with a recipe that provides the greatest nutrient density for the least amount of calories, body builders and personal trainers usually have the best formulations.

Here’s one from Jackie Warner’s Workout at Skysport Spa:

Jackie Warner Protein Shake (As seen on Workout)
2 cups of organic mixed berries
1 scoop of mega green powder
1 serving of whey protein powder
1 tbsp of flaxseed oil
1 tbsp of liquid amino acids
1 cup of ice
mix in blender

Banana Bread Shake

  • Two Scoops of Whey Protein Powder
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Cup Quaker Oatmeal (cook with boiling water)
  • 3/4 Cup Kellogg’s Bran Flakes
  • 1 Bottle of Water
  • Sugar, Brown Sugar or Artificial Sweetener to taste

    Any time you have great abs and appear on T.V. people want to know how you do it.  So while to my knowledge there is no official Jackie Warner Diet Book out yet, she has alluded to her dietary philosophy and daily diet on the show.

    Here is what might be a good representation of Jackie Warner’s diet:

    Eat Well During The Week, Reward on Weekends
    Jackie tells AfterEllen.com “You need to eat like you’re working; take it seriously, weekends are your cheat days. I’ll have a box of candy at a movie on the weekends.”

    Limit Sugar Intake
    She goes on to say, “I’m not about deprivation. Sugar addiction is hard to kick, but if you limit it to two days a week, eventually you’ll want and need less.”

    Coffee
    In the show, there is a perpetual “tall” Starbucks coffee on Jackie’s desk.  Knowing her position on sugar, I bet it’s black.  Not surprising as black coffee has no calories and caffeine has known fat burning properties.

    Eat Protein and Fruit
    She recommends this many times on the show.  Ms. Warner most likely eats any number of fruits which are naturally low calorie and high in fiber.  She probably also chooses lean protein sources.  She was eating scrambled eggs and melon for breakfast in one episode which is the perfect protein/fruit combo.

    Book Me
    For those of you who want more details on Jackie’s nutrition and fitness you won’t have to wait much longer.  According to Jackie she’s writing a book.  “My book will allow people to succeed. I’ve been in the trenches and have experienced human nature. I know what qualities are needed to do this long term.â€?
