Jackie Warner Workout and Client Sarah - A Match Made In TV Heaven

Jackie and SarahFor those of you watching Jackie Warner workout her latest client Sarah on Bravo’s Workout T.V. series - remember to separate fantasy from reality.

It seems the Jackie / Sarah connection has less to do with Sarah’s physical conditioning and more to do with publicity.
Is it really Jackie Warner trainer expertise Sarah’s after or Jackie Warner workout TV exposure. Is the appearance on the show strictly to start getting more commercial face time? You be the judge.
The actual workout may or may not be real but the publicity strategy is looks very real. It seems Jackie’s client Sara or Sarah Siegel-Magness is looking for a way to break into TV land. Penny Parker Of The Rocky Mountain Post reports:

Sarah Siegel-Magness has lived life as daughter to Celestial Seasonings czar Mo Siegel, CEO of the SoLow clothing line, wife of gahzillionaire Gary Magness and mother of two. Siegel-Magness also has been exploring her options in TV.

“I’ve been pitching five networks for a show about me,” Siegel-Magness told me during a phone interview from her upstate New York lake house. “I wanted to do a show where I starred in it.”

S-M and her manager (and Rocky Mountain News stylist) Tobie Orr are pitching the project as a docudrama focusing on Sarah’s professional life.

When the pair took the idea to Bravo, folks at the cable network wanted to see Sarah get more TV face time first, so they cast her in the new series Work Out, a six-episode reality show featuring Jackie Warner, the high-profile owner of chi-chi Sky Sport and Spa in Beverly Hills. The series, which premiered July 19, airs at 7 p.m. Tuesdays (including tonight).

Siegel-Magness, whose appearance was teased in the opening episode, makes her full-fledged character debut in the fourth show, airing Aug. 8. “It was a frigging blast,” she said about working out on Work Out. “Jackie is an incredible person, we had so much fun.”

They shot scenes at Siegel-Magness’ Palm Springs home. “A 10-minute workout with (Warner) and I was huffing and puffing,” she said. “It was hilarious.”

S-M’s next TV trip: playing in a celebrity poker event in Las Vegas that airs in October.

Meanwhile, SoLow is riding high. “I picked probably the most difficult business to be in, it’s so trendy,” she said. “But we’re going strong.”

Jackie Warner Diet or What Jackie Warner Eats On Weekends

Jackie Warners Diet

Any time you have great abs and appear on T.V. people want to know how you do it.  So while to my knowledge there is no official Jackie Warner Diet Book out yet, she has alluded to her dietary philosophy and daily diet on the show.

Here is what might be a good representation of Jackie Warner’s diet:

Eat Well During The Week, Reward on Weekends
Jackie tells AfterEllen.com “You need to eat like you’re working; take it seriously, weekends are your cheat days. I’ll have a box of candy at a movie on the weekends.”

Limit Sugar Intake
She goes on to say, “I’m not about deprivation. Sugar addiction is hard to kick, but if you limit it to two days a week, eventually you’ll want and need less.”

Coffee
In the show, there is a perpetual “tall” Starbucks coffee on Jackie’s desk.  Knowing her position on sugar, I bet it’s black.  Not surprising as black coffee has no calories and caffeine has known fat burning properties.

Eat Protein and Fruit
She recommends this many times on the show.  Ms. Warner most likely eats any number of fruits which are naturally low calorie and high in fiber.  She probably also chooses lean protein sources.  She was eating scrambled eggs and melon for breakfast in one episode which is the perfect protein/fruit combo.

Book Me
For those of you who want more details on Jackie’s nutrition and fitness you won’t have to wait much longer.  According to Jackie she’s writing a book.  “My book will allow people to succeed. I’ve been in the trenches and have experienced human nature. I know what qualities are needed to do this long term.â€?

Jackie Warner Workout - The Skysport Spa Trainers Ongoing Saga

Bravo's Workout From After Ellen

For those of you following the antics at Skysport Gym, After Ellen has full episode recaps.

You’ll get play by play commentary as only those at the Ellen show can provide.  Here’s proof:

It’s 5:30 a.m. in Los Angeles, and in the pre-dawn darkness, the streets are desolate and still. One glossy, black, BMW SUV cruises the streets alone. Alone, except for that camera crew driving alongside it.

Jackie’s on her way to the gym, and while she drives, she’s on the phone with Mimi. Jackie’s awake because she has to go to work. Mimi’s up because vampires sleep during the day…

Tess & JackieGoing back to work, Jackie consults with a new client, Tess. As they chat about gastric bypass surgery versus diet and exercise, I notice the artwork on Jackie’s walls. There’s a LeRoy Neiman-style painting of a Chihuahua hanging on one wall, and on the other, behind Tess’ head, is a portrait of Gandhi. I like the juxtaposition of the playful and the meaningful. That’s why I keep my great-grandmother’s pearls in a Hello Kitty lunchbox.

Tess starts to cry. She doesn’t want to be the woman for whom diet and exercise is not enough, as her doctors told her. Jackie assures her it’s not true; together, they’re going to make it happen. Her body will crave new things–protein and stuff–which is fine, because she can satiate herself with one boiled egg and a small apple. Tess should be crying harder. At 270 pounds with a 58-inch bust, Tess says, “I’m ready to get to the person I know I am.â€? You go, girl…

The next day we’re back at the gym, and Tess is on the dread-mill. “My ears are buzzing,â€? she gasps. She looks genuinely scared. Jackie assures her it’s all normal. Tess promptly runs to the bathroom and pukes. “You lost some weight already!â€? Jackie says cheerily. Tess says in defeat, “I don’t know if I can come back tomorrow.â€?

Review of Bravo’s “Workout”

(Watch WORKOUT video clip)

Jackie WarnerIt’s refreshing to see a show that captures both the business and personal side of personal training - making it accessible to all. As a personal fitness trainer and business owner, I found myself smiling again and again at the business environment and personality combinations that form the essence of the “Workout.

Power, Passion & Passive?
Jackie Warner is the owner of LosAngeles based SkySport & Spa. She comes across as knowledgeable, likable, ethical yet somewhat tyrannical as she drives toward her goal of making SkySport the best gym in L.A.. She is mentally and physically strong, yet we see her submissive side when she deals with the personal tension created by her girlfriend Mimi.

Every “Body has a Story
The Workout also offers the personalities and lifestyles of Jackie’s core personal training team. Their quirks, interactions and issues will undoubtedly provide the fuel for highly combustible episodes. Set against a backdrop of celebrity, glamour, and adrenaline I think the Workout Series on bravo has the potential to be red hot with viewers.
